The Incomplete Travel Guide is the product of a few travel enthusiasts who are lucky enough to get to travel around a fair bit, and want to support some of the great places we’ve visited.
The general idea is to promote restaurants, hotels, national parks, and other places that have something special to recommend them. Our bias is towards the independent operators, who keep things interesting and keep tourist revenue in the local economy – but we realize that sometimes large corporations can do a good job too.
You’ll find the contents run the gamut – from the occasional luxury hotel to basic huts in the back of beyond. The guide is incomplete because nobody involved does this full time or for pay.
We do it because time and money for travel are precious things, and we hate to see them wasted on mediocre experiences; and because we want to support all the people out there who are putting in the hard work to create and sustain great places.
No payments, discounts or other compensation are accepted from the organizations listed here, and any personal relationships are detailed in the individual listings.
The guide contains notes about trips that go back a few years, before the start of the blog, so the ‘posting date’ is being used to give an indication of how old the information is.
We hope you find the site interesting and useful. If you do, please spread the links around, and help us support the organizations we describe.
