GLO Kluuvi Hotel, Helsinki, Finland

The GLO Kluuvi is a cleverly repurposed office building in central Helsinki, just off a main shopping drag and easy walking distance from the train station and dropoff for the airport bus.  Fitted out with warm dark woods, the rooms are comfortable and offer both good soundproofing, and heavy curtains – a real bonus feature during the long summer days.

The crowd in the lobby bar can try too hard, but they’re harmless. Just across the street is the Fazer cafe, for an over-the-top snack.

We had only one night, but would have happily spent a few more there.
