The Morrison Hotel, Dublin, Ireland
You’d be hard-pressed to find a better location than the Morrison‘s, right on the Liffey and just a few doors down from The Winding Stair, one of our favorite restaurants. Staff are quite helpful and friendly, and they do lay out an impressive breakfast.
One of the first ‘design’ hotels in Dublin, the overall minimalist effect has aged surprising well, especially the lobby and bar, though we’ve recently heard that the hotel will be renovated at the end of 2012. The rooms had been started to show their age somewhat, so we’re really pleased to hear the owners are investing to keep things up to scratch.
We’ll be very interested to see how the renovations turn out, but in the meantime you can sometimes catch some good deals on advance booking through their website. We also big fans of the top-floor rooms, some of which have extra-tall windows.
