Concierge Boutique Bungalows is just one of the coolest, best-designed hotels we’ve ever stayed in. Located in easy walking distance to the restaurants on Florida Road, they make an unlikely set of buildings in an unlikely location into something really special.
The hotel is comprised of a group of heritage buildings, tucked away off an alley off a side street that took us three trips around the block to find. But once you do arrive, you’ll be welcomed by friendly and knowledgeable staff, and then shown to a room done up in one of the best examples of modern South African interior design we’ve ever come across. The design is smart and hip, but also so comfortable that one of us simply didn’t leave the room one day during our visit.
The on-site restaurant does casual but very, very good food, which includes brilliant breakfasts. We didn’t have enough days to try all the things we wanted to. You’re also two minutes’ walk from the excellent Hai.Bo.
Our advice is to pull yourself away from the beachfront hotels for a few days (you’re five minutes’ drive from the ocean) and enjoy a really unique and special place.
