Blue Lime Hotel, Phnom Penh, Cambodia
When your taxi drops you off at the mouth of what seems like a random and very busy alley in central Phnom Penh, you might be wondering if there is some mistake. But the Blue Lime is in fact there, hidden away, a little oasis (literally – the garden is stunning). We could never quite figure our how they managed to fit the hotel in where they did, but no matter, it’s there, and it’s great.
Rooms are arranged in a couple of buildings around a central pool and garden, which is where you can also have a drink or breakfast. The design is clean and minimal, and makes very clever use of polished concrete throughout, which helps to keep things stylish but still cool.
One night we splurged on an upgraded room, which even had its own pool, but the standard rooms are also very nice, and great value for money.
